Kava has been traditionally used in the Pacific Islands for thousands of years in cultural, religious and social gatherings. The root of the plant was chewed, ground or pounded and mixed with water to make a drink. Kava is cultivated throughout the South Pacific and as far north as Hawaii, growing in tropical to sub-tropical climates; with its use frequent, and wide spread.
Kavalactones are the chemicals produced from the kava root that affect the brain and central nervous system.It helps to relax mind and body and help induce sleep.
