The story of Vita Health begins in 2001 in Melbourne, Australia, with the creation of a natural health venture called In2Herbs. Founded by New Zealand born Stuart Thorman, the company emerged from a deep curiosity and respect for the transformative power of herbs after witnessing the profound impact plant medicine had on people’s lives.
What began as a passion soon grew into a calling. Two years later, the company was relocated to New Zealand, bringing with it an expanding vision shaped by experience, learning, and a deep respect for nature’s wisdom. As it established roots in its new home, the business continued to evolve, eventually becoming Vita Health, a name that reflects a broader commitment to holistic wellbeing, integrity, and high-quality natural health solutions.
At its heart, Vita Health was founded on the belief that natural health products play a vital role in supporting everyday wellbeing. In 2012, a pivotal journey to Ecuador and deep into the Amazon Jungle marked a profound turning point in the Vita Health and Herbal Tech story. Immersed in one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, Stuart spent time living alongside a traditional Shaman and his family, where ancient plant knowledge was not studied from books but lived, practiced, and respected as part of everyday life.
Through this experience, he witnessed firsthand how medicinal plants had been used for generations to support the body, calm the mind, and restore balance. These were not quick fixes or isolated remedies, but part of a holistic way of living that honoured the deep connection between people, plants, and the environment. Knowledge was passed down through story, ritual, observation, and experience, reflecting a relationship with nature built on respect rather than extraction.
This time in the rainforest offered a powerful reminder that nature is not something separate from us, but something we are deeply intertwined with. When that relationship is honoured, balance follows. When it is neglected, imbalance begins to show itself in both our health and our lives.
