During his time in prison, Stuart was given a book on bees. He was so fascinated by bees that on his return to New Zealand in 1944, he decided to start beekeeping with his wife, Thelma Tweeddale, in the Rangitikei Region of Central New Zealand.
Three generations later, Mark Tweeddale plays an important part of one of the largest honey producers in New Zealand working for his family business Tweeddale’s Honey Ltd.
