The 3mg of Black Pepper extract (Piperine) is required for the Curcumin to be ingested into the body, without Pepper the adsorption is 20 times less and therefore the benefits are greatly reduced.
Is this the same as the stuff I cook with?
It is made of the same plant, The Turmeric used in cooking is the root that has been powdered, which typically contains 2% Curcumin. The powder in Everyday Health Turmeric capsules, is that same root powder, but it has gone through an extraction process, to extract the beneficial compound Curcumin, which has been standardised to 95% pure Curcumin, then mixed with the piperine to improve bioavailability by 20 times, making it 950 times stronger than simply taking Turmeric powder its self. This is why you will only need 1 or 2 capsules per day.
Directions
Adults: Take 1 capsule, twice daily with food or water.
