Wildcrafted Manuka Tea is sustainably harvested from wild-grown Manuka in Golden Bay, New Zealand. Hand-picked, graded and packed, and is a totally natural and a traditional product of New Zealand. There are no additives or preservatives and it is naturally caffeine-free.
This Manuka tea is produced by only the soft ends of branches with recent new growth and only selected from trees in shady or sheltered areas. The other positive aspect is that by carefully harvesting only a small part of each tree the tree is not harmed and can be returned to for harvesting 6 months later.
The Manuka tree is most famous for the honey produced from its flowers however the herb itself was also an important medicine and is one of New Zealand's oldest native plants. Manuka leaves are known to have strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal actions and so can be used for bacterial and fungal infections of the skin and digestive tract. Manuka tea can also be used as a wash for wounds, cuts, sores and fungal conditions. It was a valuable plant used by the early Maori of New Zealand to treat a variety of ailments. The leaves were used to reduce fever and calm internal complaints.
The pack is resealable and 100% compostable once the labels are removed. Reseal once opened and store in a cool dry area away from direct sunlight.
Directions
Use 1 teaspoon per cup. Place tea in a teapot or a tea filter. Add freshly boiled water and allow to infuse for 3-5 minutes depending on your preference.
The leaves can also be used as a rub for meat or infused into oils for cooking.
