This Manuka tea is produced by only the soft ends of branches with recent new growth and only selected from trees in shady or sheltered areas. The other positive aspect is that by carefully harvesting only a small part of each tree the tree is not harmed and can be returned to for harvesting 6 months later.

The Manuka tree is most famous for the honey produced from its flowers however the herb itself was also an important medicine and is one of New Zealand's oldest native plants. Manuka leaves are known to have strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal actions and so can be used for bacterial and fungal infections of the skin and digestive tract. Manuka tea can also be used as a wash for wounds, cuts, sores and fungal conditions. It was a valuable plant used by the early Maori of New Zealand to treat a variety of ailments. The leaves were used to reduce fever and calm internal complaints.

The pack is resealable and 100% compostable once the labels are removed. Reseal once opened and store in a cool dry area away from direct sunlight.
