Strict Quality Control

To reach a gold standard in health supplements Solgar have a rigorous quality control system in place to test products at multiple stages from raw material to the finished product. All materials arriving into the Solgar facility are subject to stringent tests to ensure they are the highest quality. If the standard is not met materials are rejected and sent back to the suppliers. Because Solgar has its own on-site Quality Laboratory this ensures that each product meets the Gold Standard™ for excellence. There are many tests that happen during the whole process.

State-of-the-Art HEPA Air Filtration System

The cleanest of environments is important during the manufacturing process. The air that circulates through the Solgar facility passes through a bank of HEPA filters that remove 99.9% of airborne particulates. Both air and water samples are routinely tested in Solgar's in-house laboratory.

Cleanliness

Food-grade cleaners are used to sanitize equipment between batches. Machinery is broken down cleaned and reassembled. In some cases, the equipment is broken down into hundreds of parts and may take up to eight hours to clean and reassemble. All walls, floors, and other surfaces are also cleaned before production begins for another formula.

USP Water Purification System

Reverse osmosis water purification system is used which is widely considered as the finest type of filtration available. This isn't required by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), but the Solgar Gold Standard™ requires the best system possible systems available. Solgar has invested over $1 million to ensure they have the best system in place to ensure the ultimate in quality.

Recyclable Amber Glass Bottles

Beautiful "old style" medicine bottles are used for all Solgars products. They are non-leaching, non-porous, and odorless; best of all they are recyclable! Solgar also uses the amber glass bottles because they protect against heat, light, and moisture.

Aqueous Coated Tablets

Aqueous coated tablets are a natural, water-based coating used for all of Solgar's coated-tablet products. This is an alternative to using the more common solvent-based coating agent shellac (also known as pharmaceutical glaze).
