Herb Extracts & Tinctures
Herbal tinctures or liquid extracts made from herbs that you take orally (in the mouth). They are usually extracted in alcohol, but they can also be extracted in vegetable glycerine. Extracts and tinctures are simple and convenient to use because they are taken directly under the tongue and enter the bloodstream much more quickly than by any other means. This means that the response in the body is usually quicker. Although some herbs will have an immediate effect, such as those used to help one relax. Others may take longer like more nutritious herbs that need to build up in the system for a few weeks (like multi-vitamins) before having an effect.
